Social Networking for BusinessesUsing Social Networking for Business

I’m sure you’ve heard of social networking, Facebook and Twitter being the most popular forms at the moment.

Most people use these social networking sites for personal use to connect with friends and colleagues.

However, using social networking for business is also becoming more and more popular and for very good reasons. Social media is a very powerful method of communication and best of all it’s completely free.

It’s also great for building up a following within a niche, it’s great for building trust and it’s great for broadcasting information or connecting with individuals worldwide.

It goes without saying then that using social networking for businesses is not only a good idea, it’s vital if you want to stay competitive.

Start Using Social Networking Today

If you’re not already doing it you should start with Facebook and Twitter, the two big players in social networking at the moment.

Create yourself a Facebook account and then a fan page for your business. For an example, see my own here: Facebook.com/BusinessMindsetExpert

Create yourself a Twitter account like my own here: Twitter.com/JRKtm

Use your primary keywords in your profiles so that people can find you easily and add links to your website. People and Google will appreciate it.

Make sure you promote your social media presence wherever possible, business cards, websites, email signatures etc.

Send out regular and relevant free content to your followers. It’ll help your followers learn to know, like and trust you.

Your customers buy from people they know, like and trust so always keep this in mind when developing your new social media marketing strategy.

Enjoy Social Networking

Many people rate social networking as the most fun aspect of running their business so don’t be afraid to enjoy it too.

Using Facebook and Twitter to connect with like minded people is a fun and easy way to create a king of mastermind group too.

I’ve also used Twitter to connect with high profile celebrities in my niche. There’s not many other avenues where I’d be able to do this so often. Here’s a specific example: Twitter Celebrity Retweets

Finally, if you’ve experienced particularly bad service from a business then spreading the word using social media is good therapy. Just be careful of defamation laws.

Similar applies if you’ve found a great resource or experienced great service somewhere. Use social networking to spread the joy.
